Fluid Concept Surfboards has been around since 1997. We began as two shapers designing & creating boards out of a pure love of surfing. We have evolved the business bit by bit into what exists today. Adding the website, then the surf shop with surf board & wetsuit hire, & finally, ta-da, our fantastic, BSA qualified surf school.
Steve Crawford co-owner and surf instructor has spent the best part of 30 years living and surfing on the north east, his formative years were spent living, surfing and competing on the cornish coast. Mark has been surfing 22 years and shaping for the last 10 years. We don't need buckets of cash so can give experienced, honest, truthful advise on surf boards, wetsuits, & all manner of surf accessories. You can even phone us for a surf check!
Mark started surfing this coast in 1986 & shaping in 1997. He's a true artist in & out of the water (check out "My Mate Mark" - http://www.virb.com/899prod ) As an established surfer & shaper he offers custom & personalised surfboard shaping out of wide ranging materials, to create a board specifically designed for you and your ability.
At Fluid Concept we are committed to quality - getting you the best product to suit your needs. It makes your surf the best it can be & also if you can use it for as long as possible, you save your hard earned cash & keep product consumption to a minimum.
We test all our products ourselves and maintain a commitment to give you an honest evaluation of all the different surf products on the market. We are, after all, a community of surfers not businessmen (much to our accountants horror!)
We are also completely dedicated to the sale & repair of secondhand boards & equipment as a further way of minimising environmental & financial impact. We sell well priced used surfboards, fins & the occaisional wetsuit, giving you a bargain! After all, more hours spent earning cash means less in the surf!
Our other passions include the natural world - enjoying & protecting our environment with a deep respect for our fellow life forms who share this beautiful planet.
With this in mind, we aim to keep our impact as minimal & gentle as possible. We've run our business premises with 100% renewable energies since 2004 & over the last 5 years we've planted a great number of trees. We also support sustainable, life enhancing charities. Our constant aim is to tread as softly as possible on the planet, but also understand the need for technology development.
